On Saturday, my family decided to have an earlier Thanksgiving celebration. But well, it wasn't really a Thanksgiving dinner--I mean, we had lamb... and it was good. Afterwards, my sister, her boyfriend, my mom, and I went to go watch
Twilight. I had been dreading it the whole week, because, well, seriously?
Vampires that sparkled in the sun. Not my cup of tea. But my sister was so so
so excited about watching it (she's turning twenty-two), that I went along with it. I read half the book before we hit the theater.
The book itself was a pretty lame, cheesy love story, but I have to admit. I grew addicted to it. I'm almost ashamed of it, hahha, but yes, alright, fine, I LIKED THE BOOK. I liked how cheesy it was. I love Edward Cullen, the
~*~vampire~*~. He's the perfect prince charming! Well, apart from his eating habits. My only complaints are how the author repetitively stated how Phoenix was such an amazing, metropolitan city (umm..please, LA), and how she used the word "incredulous" fifty thousand times.
Contrary to the book, the movie was close to horrible. The acting was all mediocre, many of the scenes were way too short, the other vampires (Rosalie, Jasper, and Alice) had too little screen time, and it resembled more of a parody than a translation of the story. The book was translated so literally, that I seriously laughed at every single serious scene.
( I <3 Edward! )Anyway, my single most favorite scene in the movie is when Bella and Edward are in the forest and she's like...
Bella: I know what you are.
Edward: Say it out loud.
Say it.Bella: A vampire.
Edward: Are you afraid?
Bella: No.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I cracked up so hard, and was thankful that I wasn't the only person laughing in the theater, or else it would've been embarrassing.
Nevertheless, if/when the sequel to
Twilight comes out in theaters (
New Moon), I will rush to watch it! Good laughs and Robert Pattinson (:
